Global Youth Fellowship: Explore the Concept
A demonstration orientation to the fellowship idea, focused on a manageable project question, useful feedback and the safeguards a real program would need.
A proposed conversation
The session, in outline.
Separate concept from commitment
Introduce the proposed fellowship as an idea for connecting young advocates and mentors. Clarify that no cohort, eligibility rules, funding or placements have been confirmed.
Make the question manageable
Explore a sample project brief about waste-reduction information in a shared space. Define a question, a low-risk learning activity and what evidence would be needed.
Practice useful feedback
Review a hypothetical project for clarity, local relevance and realistic scope. Distinguish supportive mentoring from promises of access, credentials or employment.
Name the safeguards
Identify requirements for any future program: safeguarding, mentor screening, accessibility, privacy, clear responsibilities and a way to raise concerns.
Build a personal learning brief
Write a project question, a skill to develop and a type of support that would help. This is an independent reflection exercise, not an application.
